Okay i’m gonna get real for sec. I’m so sick of seeing all this crap about amendment one. And most of the people posting it are all the people that go to my church. Even my mom texted me and told me to vote for it. Like is it a requirement that one must be ignorant to be christian? like the fact that i couldn’t tell anyone from my church that i’m probably going to vote AGAINST it for fear that they would judge me completely ironic?? And the reason they’re ignorant is because they obviously haven’t done any type of research on the amendment. Or they are overlooking the fact that THERE IS ALREADY A LAW BANNING GAY MARRIAGE!! This amendment isn’t overwriting that one, it’s just making it even more exclusive. But all anyone seems to care about is keeping marriage the way god intended, between a man and a woman; screw all the legal issues and the insecurity for children with parents who aren’t married and the domestic abuse cases going to be thrown out because of it. That’s all fine and dandy, just as long as two men or women can’t be happy together. yea, that seems like the right thing. And anyone who thinks it’s not a bad thing then take a look at Ohio who did the same exact thing and all the rapist and abusers that were released because they weren’t in a “legal” marriage. Also i don’t get how it can make me a christian to say that i have the right to tell someone else how they should live their lives. It’s not my job to force my beliefs on anybody, i’m supposed to show them Jesus through my LIFE, not beliefs. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be? That they see Jesus in me and maybe come to the same realization on their own? not through some forced amendment, that actually does more bad than good? Idk, it’s just all dumb. I am proud to have been saved by Jesus, don’t get me wrong, I love Jesus, i just miss the days when that’s all there was to it. You worried about your own walk with Jesus rather than trying to get as many people to walk with you and judge everyone else going on a different road.
